Fig 1) This bird is thought to be a possible Herring x Lesser Black-backed Gull hybrid (not one of the commoner hybrids). The mantle shade is intermediate (though closer to graellsii), the legs are pink like Herring, the body proportions are more like graellsii, but what's with the dark eye?


Fig 2) This shows the bird obviously in moult. I assume that last black band is on P5.


Fig 3) Note the rather strong bill.
